Our colleagues Daniel King and Adrian Farrel from OLD DOG CONSULTING LIMITED, Juan Fernandez-Palacios from Telefónica and Raul Muñoz from Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC) attended NGON & 5G Transport at Congress & Exhibition Center Mandelieu-La Napoule in Cote d'Azur, France.
On 30th May - 11:00 CEST, Raul Muñoz brought TeraFlow H2020 into the discussion of F5G during the workshop "ETSI: Evolving Towards F5G-Advanced for Green 10Gbps Everywhere" in the Auditorium. Other speakers in this session were Olivier Ferveur, Marcus Brunner, Behnam Shariati and Teun van der Veen.
On 31st May 2023 - 14:05 CEST, Juan Fernández Palacios was with Ralf Kattner for the session "SDN to Facilitate Automatized Operation of Telecommunication Networks" in the Auditorium.
Also on 31st May 2023 - 16:10 CEST, Daniel King chaired the roundtable in Track B: "Is it the End Nigh for Layered IP Over DWDM: Smart Pluggable Coherent Optics”. This session covered:
- The limitations of IPoDWDM
- A continued need for coherent optics
- What are the “killer” use cases?
On 1st June 2023 - 11:40 CEST, Daniel King and Adrian Farrel chaired “Role of Standards in Automating Intelligent Optical Networks”. This workshop introduced the following topics:
- The techno-economic need for more intelligence in the network
- Operator requirements and use cases for autonomous networking
- Standards for facilitating real-time monitoring
- Deploying intent-based capabilities for network automation
- Role of inventory management and AI-based fault diagnosis in optical networking
Other speakers in this session were Juan Fernández Palacios, Haomian Zheng (IETF) and Filippo Cugini (CNIT - Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Telecomunicazioni).
